The Metropolis of Atlanta has announced its second annual Catechist Conference, which will take place from September 6-8, 2024 at the Diakonia Retreat Center in Salem, South Carolina.
The theme of the conference is "Bringing Our Children to Communion with Christ," and is open to all, including teachers of Sunday catechism, adult religious educators, parents and grandparents of catechism students, parish ministry leaders, and clergy.
Featured speakers include Fr. Stephen Freeman, Archpriest in the Orthodox Church in America, Pastor Emeritus of St. Anne Orthodox Church in Oak Ridge, TN, and author of Everywhere Present: Christianity in a One-Story Universe and Face to Face: Knowing God Beyond Our Shame; Leslie Hansard, Project Lead for Customer Support Training at the Chick-Fil-A Support Center and Philoptochos Chapter President since 2021; and Fr. Steven Klund, Pastor of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Wilmington, NC.
Registration which will open soon, will include onsite accommodation, all meals, meaningful connection opportunities, and education to help you grow as a spiritual leader.
